S Y Z

As u all have known, I've decided not to go for Yanzi concert 2006.

But things turned out..

Note the $0.00

It was a super discounted tix at a look-like-super-good-seat.

Met up wit Meow Meow (my boss for the day) at Marina Sq for dinner after drums. Obviously her stomach CANNOT go on the diet which she had initially wanted to. Made our appearance at Kyonishin (I think dat was the name), a Jap restaurant situated at the very very corner of 2nd floor. It was deserted other for like 3 occupied tables.

Thick Ramen

Spicy and Thick Ramen

Side Dishes that comes with the set. Takopachi and Saba Misoni

Rating: 3.5 outta 5 moos
All these + 2 canned drinks for a price of $27.70. The ramen was good, the soup base was good. I think its even better than the cook-2-days-soup-base ramen at Tanpopo in Liang Court. At least its not so MSG-laced. Only makes me wonder how they survive with such a low table turnover rate.

Went Suntec for a little walk b4 going to the bus-stop for a bus to Indoor Stadium. Bus 16 was crowded to the brim and we comtemplated of taking a cab but the private (and quite empty) bus 608 arrived.

Had to go thru a security check b4 going inside. I have to freakingly deposit my drumsticks at the lockers lor. And I was thinking maybe my camera will kana 1st but it was hidden in a pouch (So many others bringing camera in oso mah). MY DRUMSTICKS!! WAT! Scare I throw on stage issit.. -.-" I din even have to deposit it for MayDay lor. So irritatedly I looked for ppl to change $1 coins and left my drumsticks at the lockers. Ahh! I know! Mus be the zahbor security dun like my face, then wan to give the lockers business. Mus be it!

Stage from our seats.

We were so happy when we reached our seats bcos I had actually expected the privileged rows to extend for abt 10 rows. There's only 4 rows. But actually the privileged rows (The $198 seats) are not that great. They are not able to see the whole stage lor. Only good thing is can see Yanzi close up when she comes over occasionally. Then we noticed the band. Wat the hell! I'm always following the band. Jay like dat, Yanzi oso like dat.

I'm fascinated by these steel structures.

After waiting for abt an hr, show finally started at 8.45pm. Really Singaporean culture. Like those wedding dinners which will almost guaranteedingly start an hr late.

Yanzi's back

Shock shock horror horror! We're situated at the "BACK STAGE!" Growl! So thru'out the show, I see Yanzi's back the most. And I thot the floor plan shows side stage.

Very small size

The equipments keep koking up and so we got bored. The atmosphere wasnt even high. People are still sitting in their seats. Even the fanclub at the opposite side are also at their seats even thou they're standing. The MY fanclub had on their bright yellow club tees and seated at the other side (Supposedly front stage in Jay's concert).

The under-utilised lightsticks

She finally came over.

The really quiet crowd

Yanzi dancing some waltz number

神奇?

A bit the Broadway...

She makes her rounds again

FIR!!

Woah F.I.R REALLY got the audience to life. They brought the house down with 3 numbers, appearing in the middle of 第一天 (Expected), then its Lydia and 爱的力量. I think 第一天 is already a representative song for Singaporeans. Seems like a lot of the audience noes how to sing it. MayDay did it for their concert, now Yanzi and F.I.R (It was written by all 3 and sung originally by Yanzi). But still, F.I.R vs MayDay.. The guys still win. (Go F.I.R concert confirm sing until voice hoarse.. pitch too high!)

Trying to zoom in on my old Lumix

Faye and Real (Birdy tis is the best I can get for u)

A clearer Faye

Yet another costume

She looks more Gigi than Sammi lor..

And she did a Jay stunt. 我要的幸福 on piano.

Closes up with help from the cameraman

A casual piece of stagewear. 超快感 I think.

Silent all these yrs. A chair (that keeps rotating) and a single spotlight.

She ended up sitting on the floor. (FACE HERE LAH!!)

The backview of Tanya!!!~~~ and Yanzi

Unplugging 原点 and 陌生人. 无底洞 or 失乐园 would be better choices for 陌生人..

She looks so enjoy~

Some tribal dance

Traffic Controller 1

Traffic Controller 2 HAHA!

Waves~

Fireworks! Din managed to zoom out in time thou

The coolest costume of them all! Very communist.

Encores 绿光. She looks cute with her hands in pocket (I think)

This is hard work.

So small compared to the huge group of dancers.

Cool...

Sings Ti Orh Orh

Ti Orrhhhh Orrhhhhh.. Orrrhhh OOrrrrhhhh.. (Better dun rain ok)

Good one!

Bye~

End of concert.

The concert, from start till end, is NOT HAPPENING AT ALL! Perhaps only for FIR segment. The audience are so guai at their seats and tis is the 1st concert I'm in my seat thru'out. Only standing for like ONE SONG(?) when she requests a Kallang wave. There is no one running to the front to take pictures, absolutely no chaos! The 1st ppl I see running to the front was during F.I.R's segment lor.

I think this "encore" thing is already INBUILT as part of a concert. There'll DEFINITELY be an encore and songs that are representative of the singer would be in it. That's y u dun get to hear Ti Orh Orh in the main part, nor is 绿光 there.

Her this concert, TOO much dancers, TOO much intervals (aka the dancers), TOO much costumes (aka the dancing intervals). Somehow she is not able to "high" the crowds and somehow, her voice sounds kiddish last nite. Doesnt sound like her in the albums leh. Hmm.. And Y THE HELL I HAVE TO SURRENDER MY DRUMSTICKS! *still pissed*

After the concert, we saw a bus captain posing with a black/bored face holding a board which directs the crowd to the bus stop. Went home on a new SBS service that the bus captain was promoting. Stadium Direct to Boon Lay. Tampines, Bedok and another place I couldnt rem. By the time u reach ur estates, u're still able to catch the last few buses home. This is gonna give the cab drivers tough competition. Its $2 flat rate for adults, compared to the $20++ + midnight charges. See! Cannot be so sly anymore, hiding until midnight then pick up customers. Ur customer crowd is shrinking already.

End of the day, I can only say, I saw Yanzi in person (+ F.I.R). HaHa!

Spend Money Friday The 13th

Actually tis post was blogged at ard 2am, 14th Jan, but nvm~ I'm pulling it back 2 hrs jus to get the timestamp.

My face is currently covered in partially-dried aloe vera gel. The rashes-like bumps are back. Allergy? Cannot be. Dun recall eating any allergy-prone stuff. Growl. Seems hard to keep my face clear.

Weird. I'm smelling bak kwa. Cant be from me. Hmm..

Was on 2005 leave today, settling a few stuff. 1stly, I passed my FTT! Ok enuff liao, cannot be too noisy bcos Birdy din pass. 2nd attempt, luckily I had an easy paper.

My stupid bro had persisted/irritated/held-me-at-gunpoint to upgrade my plan to buy n70 for him. Wait long long. Birdy and I sat at Bukit Gombak MRT until he agreed to use my 6681 for the time being and wait till he has the money to buy the n70 from me.

I dun like the fact that, 1)he wans n70 desperately B4 his archery, 2)he gave me loads of stupid excuses for not wanting to use my 6681 for the time being, 3)he doesnt want to use a functionable only without camera and stuff my-best-and-durable 8250, 4)he only wans n70, nothing else, 5)he bloody wans to hao lian only, 6)etc etc etc.

If he returns wat he promised to return b4 he borrows money from me, I dun mind buying it for him. BUT bcos his debt list is growing and he din pay me back, I have to teach him to be more trustworthy, and that he is not supposed to be overspending his limit. Its a tough job, whats more with my spoilt bro.

I wan to sell him away liao, any one wans? I doh tiap oso can.

So now I'm carrying n70 stuffed inside a baby's sock found from dunno where and my bro can reformat my 6681 symbian in a few hrs. Damn. He better not spoil anything.

So after everything, we (Birdy to doorstep) delivered MOS lunch to a sick cat while i went home to throw the n70 box. Went RELC for registration and the que is crazy. My number was 300+ numbers away from the current one. Heck it! Went for late lunch at Far East.

The shop from 2 floors down

Hainanese Chicken Rice

I found this little styrofoam ball in the veggie lor..

Overall rating: 2.5 outta 5 moos
Its not very nice. I've tasted better and CHEAPER ones. Go Ayer Rajah Food Centre, the chicken rice store at the corner. Its the best so far.

And so we went back to RELC (that freaking ulu place), the que number is still at 830!! I'm 938!! And its already abt 1++ hrs away from when I got the number! Darn! And so we waited. From outside the room, to the lobby outside and back. They opened an auditorium for the students and there were even ppl sleeping inside lor. By the time I paid my exam fees (a staggering $1,848), we've waited for abt 50 mins.

Took a bus to Chinatown and 1st thing, began looking for Lim Chee Guan Bak Kwa store's que. We were so happy when we saw that the que was only like 20 ppl, only stopping outside the Fragrance Bak Kwa store next door. While we're calculating how many packets to buy, we saw the lady in front of us holding a sign.

"No sliced BBQ pork for today."

-.-" Its only 7pm lorrr.. SOLD OUT!! Freak~ Looks like we have to camp overnight to buy.

Disappointed, we departed the Lim Chee Guan place and walked the streets. Got attracted by those IQ games. Very fun. Distracted for 10 mins at the 1st one. Smelling the tea eggs at the stores, we had a craving for Eu Yen Seng Tea Eggs. So we continued walking straight down Pagoda Street. Got distracted yet again by another IQ games store, trying to separate the metal pieces. We stopped for perhaps 15 mins at this one b4 we realised we've been distracted YET AGAIN.

Reached Eu Yen Seng, bought their steaming hot tea eggs. Got a few medications for mom and dad (which my mom stubbornly dun wanna take), got one muscle ache oil for myself (still in packaging).

Walked around the streets, jumping into shops that sells qi paos (Yaa we've decided to buy a qi pao and wear for CNY. Mwahhahhaha. Aint that cool?). Tasted filefish, cupcorns and bought seaweed home.

Doggy Year

They have this 变脸 fella performing at the market there. Birdy was superly attracted by the performance so we found a clear spot to watch. They even did some 喷火ing.

变脸 or rather 喷火-ing

Spent a few min watching the laser show.

Rotating doggy. It was a rotating rooster last yr.

Laser show

Woah lasering the side of the building

The lighted-up doggies

To close the day, we went back to JE to meet up with RR and Meow Meow for prata supper.

Prata~

Teh Bing (Thats Birdy spinning all the 10 cent coins she got as change)

As usual it was good. I ordered a cheese and mushroom prata + a plain tissue. They had loads of variety for their pratas. Meow Meow was so food-deprived she ordered a plate of mee goreng on top of an otah prata. The teh bing was a bit on the sweet side but it was thick and cooling~

Overall rating: 4 outta 5 moos
The sitting area a bit oily and it has fierce contenders coming from the prata shop at Kent Ridge and another one opposite Beauty World.

That sums up a si beh hot day which made me change into a singlet and berms + birkies attire after my FTT. Too much rainy days kinda makes the hot days hotter. I still prefer rainy days, other than my towels not drying, I have no other complaints with the rain. Kekekkeke. Kinda cold now. zZzZz..

风吹枯叶

I is OLD!!

真是不认老不行...

20 minutes of aerobics (it seems like an eternity to me..) had decreased both my mana and my health bar. N to think that I wasnt even serious with it, jus follow the footings only my leg like wanna break liao like dat..

What is 20 minutes compared to more than 2 hrs of strenuous basketball training!?!?!

What is this retirement age feeling when I'm only 23! Ok lah 24 but STILL!!

I'd already self-diagnosed as having:
- Rheumatism (If not y my knees ache when there'll be rain?)
- Bad Back (For watever its called, my back is no good..)
- Loose Knees (Diagnosed today)
- Irritable Bowel Syndrome (Not enuff fibre..)
- Excessive Fat Accumulation (ahahhhaha...)
- A lot more niggling problems..

So after the stupid vigorous step-in-step-out stuff, I was having a stiff back and tight calf muscles. Had to do a few stretches to loosen it. N bad part was I worsened my twisted-the-night-b4-while-i-was-only-bending-down-to-pick something neck with a dunno wat stretch shoulder muscle stunt.

Returned to my territory half-dead after a sandwich+banana break and a speech. Was already dozing off while running reports b4 going for lunch. Oh ya I din mention. It was our company's International Safety Week lah, thus explains the activities. N we had to submit personal safety plans. Kinda like new yr resolution thing lah. Mine went:-
1) Correct unsafe acts of peers <- I always do tis anyway, no sweat n its wat my boss wrote.. I jus shortened it. mwahahaha
2) Do IPOs regularly <- arh.. In appraisal anyway so is HAVE TO do regularly.
3) Reduce sugar intake <- jus for some originality. Mwahhahaha!

Had an oily plate of fried rice due to bo-bianness. Meeting at 1.30 to discuss the department safety plans which lasted till 3++. My colleague thrusted his 3K+ Canon EOS350D accessories included which is like so heavy (both in $$ value and physical weight) and I'm supposed to take pictures during the prize presentation! Very chimilogy technology. I think I'm only suitable for simple and small cameras.

After dat continued to "work" in a holiday mood (yet again). Is practically sleeping off in front of the pc. Tired until bueh tongz like dat. Mus be the overnight ktv + go airport after that + sleep for only 5 hrs in the afternoon + fix my bookshelf extension + arrange books until 2.30am effect. Slept in Socius oso. Damn shagged like dat.

Note: there's 2 rows of comics on each shelf..

Lastly, I'll be attending SYZ's concert tis sat, courtesy of Jes n Ray for the super discounted price and for Meow Meow's company. Mwahhahhaha~~

Off to bed again with not-totally-dried hair..

Rain rAiN RaIn raIn RAIN!

When was the last time u wake up to raindrops splattering ur windows and go to bed with raindrops dancing to a lullaby?

Very Very Very Long Ago.

When the rainy season always falls at the end of the yr, when nobody (except the contractor) noes abt the golden tap, when tsunamis/katrinas/wat nots are not in existence.

Lucky that I did not have any plans yesterday other than to sleep my day away and build my MG Freedom (yah ANOTHER one!). Lucky that I am not crazy to go chasing after 3 girls of my age. Lucky that Vampire 3 had its ending yest and that I did not grow roots from my ass from all the sitting in bed with eyes glued to tv and the Freedom manual.

The whole day rain thru'out Singapore was kinda fun (Wonders y ppl always link rain to depressing?). Had my windows opened to welcome the cool breeze that the wind brought in occasionally and of cos not without some sprinkler effect. Snuggled in bed under the blankets for the whole day to keep my legs warm and prevent it from getting stiff but it still got stiff from sitting in a position too long (Damn I sound so old).

Caught the Ren Ci show on tv and was disgusted by the way the artistes behave (or was told to behave). The obvious speeches they made were either targetting at the NKF saga or Jacelyn Tay's statement AND the irritating Guo Liang keep urging for donations when the call toll is not up to standard and at the end of the show when they revealed the total monetary tally, its actually better than last year's show. This shows that people are donating more through the other line which is not tallied in the phone toll and not thru the hotline.

Cant they jus show the monetary tally, regardless of call toll or sms toll or large amount donations?

The only event that moved me was by Venerable Ming Yi. Made a call while I was thinking, hey if he cant do the 2nd stunt due to safety reasons, why not walk back the 1st stunt? It'll surely garner more calls!

Meanwhile this has got to be the charity show with the most failures. Rayson and Liping failed by a hair's breadth, Venerable Ming Yi couldnt perform due to safety reasons, Zoe the queen failed 2 out of 4 stages.

And of cos, having overseas artistes like S.H.E/Alan/ShiJia to perform is a bit out of the topic. All they do is PROMOTE their latest albums, although Alan's song is quite ok for the show but what has not wanting to grow up to do with charity? Plus their fans are mainly students without much pocket money to spare (or that they had already spent it on booking cabs to chase their idols ard). David Tao's songs are much more meaningful for the cause.

Gah! Its raining again. Jus did my appraisal. Phew! No worries, not a word abt my 9.30am reach office. Mwahhahha..
